Robert Murray has 20 years of experience in senior roles at some of Australia’s leading arts organisations, focused on marketing, communications and brand strategy, audience development, digital programs, and organisational culture.
Robert is a freelance consultant utilising his expertise to support the development of organisations to optimise their brands and enhance their market presence and visibility.
Robert has diverse interests, passions and experiences spanning many artforms and genres including music, dance, theatre, the visual arts, writing, and film.
Robert held customer relationship management and digital marketing roles at the Sydney Opera House, Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Robert developed and launched the Sydney Opera House’s first membership program, Insiders, acquiring 1400 members and $200,000 in revenue in its first quarter of operation.
Robert has participated in Australian and international arts marketing and data-driven marketing conferences and has established extensive networks in the Australian arts marketing community. As a journalist, commentator and critic has published articles in the Australian Financial Review, AFR Magazine, Limelight Magazine and others. Robert regularly contributes writing for concert program annotations and delivers pre-concert talks. He is in demand as a copywriter and editor.
